Tea Light Candle Holders

Today’s ornament for Pazzles’ 12 Ornaments of Christmas was the inspiration for the beautiful candle holders in this Tricky Tuesday lesson. The candle holders can be made in any size just by changing the dimensions of the circles. Since glass votive and tea light holders don’t come in a standard size I have created a video tutorial to show you how to adjust the opening to fit any holder. I will also be featuring the measuring tool and some of the justification tools. Even if you are an experienced ‘Pazzle Person’ I’m betting that you will be surprised at my trick for making the holder opening the same depth when creating holders of successively smaller dimensions.

A Great Big Thank You

This past weekend was wonderful. I want to thank you all for joining us for the marathon of classes, whether via the live class or the recorded ones. I always learn so much from everyone and I am just so grateful for how much everyone shares and is so willing help others. I hope that each of you will share pictures of your completed projects as you finish them. Looking forward to what you do in the future with your DRAW tools.

Let It Snow!

Craft Room member "clw4514" confesses that this is her "1st original that I am actually willing to post a picture of. I've had my machine for a year and just now am I able to feel comfy cozy with my stuff." Well clw4515, I think your snowman bag is adorable. I love that this is a project easily accessible for beginners but even us "old hands" will love how cute he is.

2010 Marathon Weekend of Classes

I am just so excited about this weekend with the projects and teaching that are planned. We will begin on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2010 at 1pm Central USA Time (same as Chicago). There will be sessions that will run every 2-4 hours throughout the ENTIRE weekend, so that EVERYONE can attend some of them a long the way, whether you live in the USA, England, South Africa, Australia or the North Pole. Just stop in to the classroom anytime you want. If the session is not running at that moment, it will have the next time posted. Remember, the time you see posted will be Chicago time, so plan accordingly. One of the projects that you will be learning to create will be this stationary gift box.

Cleaning Your Blade Holder

When it comes to papers there are a lot of different textures and types. That means that some papers may be smoother and/or be more fibrous depending on the quality and components that the paper is made of. When your Inspiration is cutting through papers, especially more fibrous ones, the paper will shed small fibers as the blade is working through it. That’s why it’s important to check your blade for paper build up.

12 Ornaments of Christmas

To say that I love Christmas would be a gross understatement. I love everything about it: the tree, Christmas lights, the music, the food, the time with family, the cards, the gifts...I could go on and on! Last year in the spirit of the holiday we did the 12 Tags of Christmas. Since many of you joined after that time I'm guessing you may not have seen those tags so make sure to check those out. This year we are doing the 12 ornaments of Christmas!

Sparkle and Shine Scrapbook Layout ...

What is Christmas without the sparkling lights, the glitter and the shine? Indeed, Christmas would not seem Christmas at all, if it no longer glistened. What better way to remember Christmas than to make that twinkle, a part of the memory. Now, is the perfect time to use glitter cardstock and rhinestones to add shine to your projects. Together they make your Christmas memories reflect the sparkle, just like you remembered it.

Online Weekend Class Marathon-December 3-5, ...

It is time for another weekend long marathon of online classes. You can get ready ahead of time by getting all the things on the supply list included here. I am SO excited about what I'm creating for this. You will be able to use it as a gift if you would like, or keep it for yourself. Watch here for photos in the next few days, as well as a schedule. I can hardly wait!

Winter Branch

I have a feeling that most of our Pazzles friends are out shopping on this day-after-Thanksgiving. I personally avoid shopping on Black Friday and decorate my house for Christmas instead. I thought it would be fun to have a little treat for all of you faithful 'Pazzle People' who visit the website on what would otherwise be a very slow day.

It’s Thanksgiving…’Whoot, Whoot, Whoot’!

There’s nothing like the holiday spirit to put us in the gift giving mood to create beautiful projects for family and friends. Nothing is better than a project that not only did you enjoy creating, but enjoying giving away as well. These little Thanksgiving treat boxes that Angie made are the perfect addition to your beautiful table setting, and can hold a sweet little snack after a filling meal! I love the detail of the little owl, and like how it’s themed so perfectly for fall with the leaves on the top of the box. I hope you all have a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving. The staff here at Pazzles is so thankful for all of you sharing your ideas, creations and support for one another here in the Craftroom! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Cutting Vinyl

I hope that there are a lot of you out there that have used our vinyl in conjunction with our Home Décor CD to decorate the walls in your home and office. There are so many fun quotes and images on the CD that it almost makes it hard to choose which one to use! Nothing adds a personal touch like being able to customize vinyl to fit the theme and decorations in your home. It’s also a great way to dress up those dreary walls that you just haven’t had the time to decorate. It’s amazing how having a simple phrase or quote on a wall can enchant your friends and family and even make them laugh too.

The Gift of Ideas Right ...

It is that time of year again and I love the little gifts that are already arriving! My mailbox is flooded with flyers, catalogs and advertisements. I used to look at them as an annoyance, something to toss in the trash before even looking at them. Since I have my Inspiration I look at them in a completely different way. I actually look forward to their arrival this time of year. They bring me the gift of ideas.

Harvest Spread

The way food is presented has a huge effect on how we perceive it to taste. It may all be in our heads but we simply cannot help that a wonderful looking spread makes us believe it is also a wonderful tasting spread. Well we may not be able to help you with the cooking part, for that you are on your own! But we can help you with making your harvest feast look amazing!

Little Presents

I think the Craft Room member Anamoreno put it best in one of her comments on this week's fabulous find "Cutting files are like little presents!" and they truly are. This series of cutting files shared by Craft Room member Astros_fan are absolutely adorable.

Using the Correct Power Supply

In the process of moving it’s so easy to misplace items and wonder which boxes things got packed in to. If you’re like me you probably tend to put all the electronics into one box or tote to make sure that it stays together. However, when you go to take everything out, it can be pretty confusing which cords go to which electronics. Even if you aren’t in the process of actually moving your entire home, it’s still a good idea to mark your cords in case you find you have to move your Inspiration.

Faux Paper Piecing

I love Paper Piecing. It adds such wonderful dimension and character to a design. In fact, Pazzles began as a company that sold Paper Piecing patterns. I designed Paper Piecing characters and themes and sold the printed pattern. You then traced the pattern onto paper and cut the pieces out by hand. Goodness, that seems like ages ago, so slow and primative! The Inspiration electronic cutter has made the process so much easier by eliminating the tedious hand cutting. Still, there are times I would like to speed the process up even more. That is when I like to use a trick I call Faux Paper Piecing.

Inspiration Carry Bag Now Shipping!

Our long anticipated Inspiration Carry Bags are now shipping! I love this bag for so many reasons: the size, the pockets, the practicality, and especially the price!! I suppose my Inspiration could fit in to other bags but the thought of it slipping and sliding around really makes me nervous. This bag is tailored specifically for the Inspiration and fits it perfectly and cushions it with thick padding to keep it safe. I also really appreciate all the thought that obviously went in to this bag. You can tell this bag was made by people who own and use their Inspirations a lot, and who travel a lot too!

Rosettes

Today's fabulous find is by craftroom member "brensdesigns". She made these beautiful rosettes because she had some just like them but wanted to be able to resize them and customize them. I love these because I find myself doing the same thing all the time. Ever since I was introduced to the Pazzles cutting systems I was "ruined" (or perhaps the right word is fixed!). Now when I got to stores all I find myself thinking is "Oh, I can design that!" or "Oh I could make that with my Inspiration!".

Thanksgiving Turkey Boxes

I love these silly little turkeys which stand up on their own and open up to reveal a box inside. I find it hard to refrain from smiling every time I look at them. What a fun way to decorate for Thanksgiving!

The ‘Shocking’ Truth About Static

There are many factors that can determine the performance of the Inspiration and its cutting abilities from weather and humidity right down to the location of where you have your Inspiration. It can be ‘shocking’ but did you know that static in your house can affect the performance of your Inspiration?

Creating Custom Rhinestone Text

A few months back when I was invited to a bridal shower, I went to the store not really knowing what I was going get. I had rhinestones on the brain because I had been spending weeks finding the best way to create rhinestones with the Inspiration. So when I saw an adorable t-shirt and short set on sale a light bulb went on.

Find the Golden Butterfly: A ...

We are trying something a little different here at the Craft Room and I hope that it is as much fun as I imagine it being. We are going to play a game, a scavenger hunt to be exact! Here is how the game works. The Game: Scattered throughout various locations on the Pazzles Craft Room are six butterflies, five clue butterflies and one golden butterfly. You might find one on a thread in the forum, or while watching a video, or in the albums, or really anywhere on the site! The five clue butterflies provide hints to where the golden butterfly is. The golden butterfly is hidden somewhere on the site and will be very hard to find.

A Crop of Compliments

As some of you may already know, I have a background in education. So I really love seeing teachers using the Inspiration for school. Especially elementary teachers for their bulletin boards! Craft Room member, kl71389, used her Inspiration to cut out everything on this board for her classroom.

Cleaning Your Inspiration Rollers

It never surprises me how easy it is for me to put off cleaning my house for several days. It’s so hard to get to the tasks at hand when there are so many other fun things to do like spend quality time with friends and family, and not to forget—crafting with your Inspiration! It’s easy to neglect all the clean up that acquires in your house when you don’t keep up on it. The same principle applies when it comes to tasks with your Inspiration, like checking to make sure that you don’t have adhesive build up on your rollers.
