InVue Software: Selection Tool

Selection Tool This video will teach you about the Selection tool and introduce you to the secondary tool bars that are activated when the Selection Tool is used. The Selection Tool is easily the most used tool in the software. You click on it to select images, when making adjustments, alignments, welding and many other functions. This video shows you how to use the Selection Tool and introduces you to two secondary tool bars that are activated when this tool is selected.

InVue Software Videos

If you haven't already noticed, we have started adding InVue videos to our ever growing Craft Room Video Library. You are going to notice a few new things about the videos going forward that we think are a pretty big deal. First, the videos are now Closed Captioned for our hearing impaired friends. Second, when you click on the video screen, you will notice that a search window appears on the right of the video. This means that you can search within that video for a specific word and it will take you to that portion of the video. If you have not already installed your software, there are videos for Installing the InVue Software on both PC and Mac to help you through the process. If you have installed your software, did you remember to install your image gallery? The video will also show you how to do that. We have also put up a basic Introduction to the InVue Software, just to help you find things easier. We will continue adding videos as quickly as we can. Do you have an idea for a video? Send an email to klo@pazzles.com and we will get it added to the list. Introduction to the InVue Software This video will give you a basic overview of the InVue software. It is recommended you watch this quick video, so you can have a basic understanding of the layout of the software and it’s tool bars.

True Type Journaling Fonts

I love to use journaling fonts with my pen tool, embossing tool, engraving tool and occasionally my distressing tool. In addition to the journaling fonts that come with the Inspiration Software, I also like to use true type fonts on occasion. Some of the things I look for are the width and size of the font. Some fonts are very thin and may not cut well, but they are wonderful for use with the pen tool. One thing to keep in mind is the type of pen you use. Some pens have fatter nibs, others are thin. You will find that they will give you different looks depending on the how thin the font is. Experiment with different pen sizes if you are not sure of the look you want. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the different looks you can get with the same font. Keep in mind that as you get larger with the font, you will have more of an open look on your font. This is why experimenting with pen nibs is helpful.

How to Cut Multi Layered ...

While this may not be an exciting addition to your skill set, it is an important aspect of using your Inspiration Studio Software. Taking apart your file and then putting it back together again can seem overwhelming with large layered projects. This video walks you through the steps and gives you some great tips. ~Michelle It is funny how we can so clearly see the way a finished scrapbook page is put together. There is a bottom layer which is usually a full sheet of cardstock. Then there is another large layer: maybe a scalloped circle. Over that is a title with a mat: 2 more layers. The title has a flourish; there are some cute flowers and leaves and frames for holding photos. It is layer over layer that we have no problem understanding.

Split Letter Monograms

Have you noticed all of the amazing projects that are using Split Letter Monograms? I have seen them on wedding invitations, as wall art, on mirrors and for decorating glass candle holders, to name just a few. Although they look complicated, they are not difficult to make. The Inspiration Studio Software makes it so easy that hardest part is choosing the font!

How to Use Center Line ...

Today's tutorial features Center Line Vectorization which is one of many vectorizing, or auto-tracing tools, in the Inspiration Studio Software. You may not even know it exists and yet, you really should become familiar with it. It will help you convert clipart to single-stroke line art. Then you can use it in Pen Tool designs, piercing and rhinestone projects.

Personal Path Crop Gets Rid ...

From time to time, I revisit a feature in the Inspiration Studio Software that I do not use often. Sometimes, I discover that it is even more useful and amazing than I had originally realized. I love it when that happens! Today's feature is one of those "wow!" moments. The Personal Path Cropping feature is truly a time saver and I will be using it frequently from now on.

Engraved Sequins Happy Sunflower Card

Engraving on Sequins

We have had a lot of requests for more projects using the Engraving Tool. I knew I wanted to do a video on it but I wanted it to be different than what I had done in the past. When I am stuck for ideas, I like to wander the aisles of the craft store to see what inspires me. Recently, I discovered that sequins are coming back in style in a big way, literally.

'Surf's Up' Pazzles Print and Cut

How To Use Craft Room ...

I love making handmade cards and invitations to the point that I just cannot bring myself to use store-bought cards. However, when I need to make 10 or more invitations or cards I begin to question my sanity!! That is when using Print and Cut can save me from becoming a crazy woman. I can still have layers and texture but I don't have to glue all the little pieces together.

Hints For Cutting Fonts at ...

This is for all of you card makers that are using the Inspiration to cut your welded sentiments and embellishments. Depending on the font selection that you use, it can be pretty easy to get discouraged with the quality of the cuts. One of the reasons for this is because of the amount of detail and the generally small size of the words that go on such a small palette like a card.

Pazzles Inspiration Creative Cutter Maintenance

I am often asked advice on how to best take care of the Inspiration Electronic Cutter. It is, after all, not only a beautiful machine to look at but an amazing tool that helps us create wonderful things. In order to be able to create on a moment's notice, the Inspiration should be maintained for top performance. Today's video will show you the do's and don'ts of maintaining your machine.

Make Dad’s Day Special with ...

Most of us want to make the cards we give to anyone in our family as special as we possibly can. I often am told that cards for Dad can be a challenge. Maybe it is because we are trying to say so much in one little card, or maybe we want the message to be unique and not silly or trivial. Whatever the reason, it seems that no card will ever say it all.

Round Monogram Card

How To Make Round Monograms

This past weekend we received a message from a Craft Room member on our Facebook page asking how to make a round monogram. During our conversation she mentioned that round monograms are really popular. Some are even cutting them out of vinyl and putting them on their toenails! She just couldn't quite figure out how to make her own.

Wall Washi Subway Art Dylan Monogram

Subway Art and Washi Wall ...

What is the connection between subway art, washi tape, and walls? In today's Take Two video tutorial, Michelle and I show you how to go large with washi! We are going to show you how making your own Wall Washi allows you to create projects that would not be possible with the average thin washi strips.

Wild for Washi

Make Your Own Washi Tape!

Have you discovered the many used of washi? Here in the Pazzles office we are wild for washi! It is such a fun addition to almost any project and comes in a variety of designs. My favorite part is the fact that you can tear it to different lengths and the messy edge is OK. (I like permission to be a bit messy- it validates my penchant for making clutter when I create.) It can also be layered and because most washi is transparent you get an hombre look by adding layers.

Mother’s Day Photo Flip Mini ...

No gift warms a mother's heart as much as photos of her family. It doesn't matter if she is 24 or 74 years of age, memories of loved ones are very precious. Today's tutorial will show you how to make a Precious Memories card that holds 8 photos as a special gift for Mother's Day.

How To Build Your Own ...

In preparation for my Israel trip I made a collector's album. Last week I showed you what I had created and it generated a lot of great comments. Thank you! :) This week I am going into the Inspiration Studio software to show you how I altered the tabbed divider file I found in the Craft Room Library.

Open Junk Journal

Create a Collector’s Album Using ...

Last week in my Just Chatting blog, I talked about my upcoming trip to Israel. I mentioned that I was a great collector of memorabilia but that I rarely had time to scrap after I go home. This time I want to scrap-on-the-go using some sort of collector's album or junk journal. Many of you commented on the blog and I have some really great ideas! Thank you!

A beautiful lattice carrot treat box and Easter Egg memory game will be the perfect addition to any Easter basket this year!

Butterfly Birdcage Scrapbook Page

How to Custom Fit and ...

I love how the Inspiration Studio Software gives me the ability to use existing images and alter them to fit my needs. I can cut, rotate, resize and add to the design and come up with something entirely new. Sometimes I just play around to see what emerges! Recently, on our Pazzles Cruise, Klo showed a trick I had never seen before. Actually, I had stumbled upon it but never knew it had any real use. I bet most of you have done the same thing too. :)

Glass Paint Projects Flower Bookmark Card and Girl Silhouette Frame

Stained Glass Gifts using Pazzles ...

Recently, DecoArt contacted me and asked if I would like some product to use in our Pazzles Cruise classes. Naturally, I said, "Yes, please!" I looked at their catalog and chose some product. It was really hard! There was so much to choose from. Then I waited in anticipation for the samples to arrive. I had asked for glass stains and fabric paint among other items. I had a vision of what I hoped to do but was not sure if it would work. Soon the box arrived and after I unpacked my goodies, I was itching to get going on a project.
